Q: Where is pick up and drop off for KidSAIL summer camp?

A: North Cove Sailing has a classroom in the 300 Vesey Street building at Brookfield Place. The classroom is on the ground floor.

 

Q: What time is pick up and drop off for KidSAIL Summer Camp?

A: For full day sessions drop off is 8:50 am – 9:00 am pickup is at 4:00 pm

For morning sessions drop off is 8:50 am – 9:00 am pickup is at 12:00 pm

For afternoon sessions drop off is 12:50 pm – 1:00 pm pickup is at 4:00 pm

 

Q: Does KidSAIL Summer Camp offer Lunch?

A: KidSAIL Summer Camp Does NOT offer Lunch. We do offer snacks and water for sailors but all full day sailors are required to bring lunch from home.

 

Q: What happens when it rains?

A: When the weather is too severe for sailing we do not send boats on the water. We have backup on land sailing related curriculum and activities that we will do in the 300 Vesey Classroom. We do not offer make up dates for rained out sails.

 

Q: What should my child wear to KidSAIL Summer Camp?

A: We require that everyone wears sneakers on our boats for safety reasons.

We recommend all sailors wear activewear and quick dry clothing. We also recommend hats and sunglasses.

A: The average day of KidSAIL follows this schedule

Morning and Full Day Sailors

9:00am – 9:30am Classroom Lesson on Topic of the day

9:30am – 10:00am Head to boat and rig the boat for sailing

10:00am – 11:45am Sailing on New York Harbor

11:45am – 12:00pm De-rig Sailboat and debrief from Sailing

Morning Sailors dismissed

12:00pm – 1:00pm Lunch (Full Day Sailors Only)

Afternoon and Full Day Sailors

1:00pm – 1:30pm Classroom Lesson on Topic of the day

1:30pm – 2:00pm Head to boat and rig the boat for sailing

2:00pm – 3:45pm Sailing on New York Harbor

3:45pm – 4:00pm De-rig Sailboat and debrief from Sailing

4:00pm Dismissal Afternoon and Full Day Sailors
